The books I am asking for are to grow my classroom library. This library is important because it puts a variety of books at the fingertips of my reading intervention students. These are students who might not ask for help in the library to find a book or know when a new book is going to be released. Stephanie Harvey says that the best reading intervention is a good book that a child can and wants to read. I want to fill my room with books that all of my students want to read. This means I need a wide variety of books to cover different reading levels, interests, and genres. My goal is to have students surrounded with texts so they never have a lapse in their reading. These books will be checked out by my intervention students to give them access to the best selection of texts that I can. Students become better readers by reading, and I hope that these materials will help them on that path.
