I have a wonderful group of 22 third graders who currently do not have a place to call their own during whole group instruction on the floor. Our current carpet is far too small for my students to have their own, individual space, thus causing problems and distractions. I teach at a rural school, with students who deserve to come into the classroom each and every day with a feeling of pride and belongingness. It is difficult for my students to have this feeling when they do not have their own personal space on the carpet.

About my class
