Our school is an inner-city school with a diverse population. We have over 850 children walking through our hallways, speaking a variety of languages and coming from different socioeconomic backgrounds. Each day these students enter a safe learning environment and are greeted with smiles from dedicated, caring staff members. I love to teach, and I want my students to love learning. Language arts encompasses reading, writing and speaking, and I try to engage students by using the arts to enhance their learning. This is a challenge with a district that is underfunded. I appreciate the opportunity to help me help my students.
