I serve English Language Learners in the Pre-K to 3rd grades. We have a variety of language backgrounds represented at my school. Some students are bilingual, some are working to improve their literacy skills, and others are newcomers who are just beginning to learn culture and communication in English. In the summertime, I run an ELL Summer Academy which includes 30 English Language Learners (ELLs) in my school district who are entering Pre-K to entering 6th grade students. I strive to provide activities that engage all types of learners and help in the language acquisition process during the summer months.
