Spelling is so important, but it often takes a back seat to other reading skills. We need to help our students be able to quickly recall words for both reading fluency and any writing. Spelling can be especially tricky for students who have a different first language, which the majority of our students do. The only way to make better readers and writers, is through practicing phonics and spelling. If they are great spellers, they can access words quickly from their brains. Please help me make spelling easy and fun for my students through resources and games. We need spelling journals, games, and models to help them add words to their brain banks.
