Scholastic magazines will help promote strong non-fiction literacy skills, help students understand the importance of diversity, inclusion, and multiculturalism. Our Social Studies and Science standards are ever-changing and these magazines are meeting these new challenges as well. The Scholastic Magazine Editorial Calendar includes subjects such as Indigenous Peoples Day, National Native American Heritage Month, Asian American and Pacific Islander Month, along with the more well-known Black and Women's History months. This helps our students see themselves in the articles, to know of their own history and each other's history too.
