My school is planning to begin a Personalized Learning pilot program next year. We are focusing on the pace, place, and choice of student activities. The cafe tables and chairs would allow students a choice in the place the learning occurs. I teach the 7th grade Math inclusion classes. My students are sweet, hardworking, and they make me laugh everyday. My students come with challenges and we work together to figure out how to work around those challenges. We have started working with Google Classroom to allow the students to work at their own pace, so they can master the skill without feeling left behind or embarrassed. My school is in a rural area and most of the families are low middle/middle class. The parents value education, but don't all have the background knowledge or education themselves to help their child. We work hard with the community to help students achieve personal success.
