I teach at a low-income school and by donating to this project my students will have the opportunity to enhance their learning with the use of iPads and Osmo in our classroom. It will be amazing to see what the older kids can teach the little ones to do with the iPads and Osmo. I believe that integrating technology with my multi-age class will foster my students' creativity, give them the tools they need in order to be able to express their knowledge and understanding of the world around them as well as allow them to become more tech savvy. I believe that our children need to be exposed to as much technology as they can so they can be prepared for the future. One way my students will utilize the iPads in the classroom is for reading. My students have access to leveled books online and other apps such as Lexia Reading Core 5 and Raz Kids. They can record themselves reading books to build fluency and take quizzes to prepare them for state mandated tests. These iPads will also be utilized as a math tool during math centers where they can play games at their level. Another way my students will utilize the iPads is to share what their learning with the class and post it to their page on Class Dojo. Parents will also get the opportunity to see what their child's learning by viewing these posts or looking at their saved work on the iPad during conferences. Finally, this project will not only give my low-income students an enhanced technological experience, but it will allow other students, parents, and myself to be part of their learning.
