My students are wonderfully independent, curious, confident, and driven. They know who they are and what they like. If I ask them to give their opinion on something, they give it wholeheartedly. Recently, I asked them for input on how the seating in our room should be arranged and they had many ideas that I never would have thought of (one idea was to arrange the desks in rows and columns since we are studying arrays). I would love to give my students the opportunity to exercise their independence and allow them to choose the best place to sit based on their needs.
