Hi, Everyone! I teach Kindergarten in an urban area with 25 students. My classroom is the home for the Kindergarten English Langauge Learners in our school. This is a large subgroup in our district and as a district we work hard to meet their needs as well as the needs of every individual in the classroom. In most aspects of our day, we utilize small group instruction and focus on partner work and hands on activities. We will also use lots of manipulatives to help make learning more engaging. My students love the option of flexible seating. In the past I have used this in a more structured manner during certain times of day. This year the kids have the option to use flexible seating accommodations all day. They really enjoy this and for the most part choose what works for them. We also focus a portion of our day on purposeful play. These kiddos love to play and enjoy being able to do so with one another!
