Teaching in Special Education often means creating individualized lessons for each student for every period and day of the week. With the chaos swirling around the room provided by students learning, students in meltdowns, traffic of incoming visitors, paperwork that never ends, and specialist like OT, PT, APE, SLP, and more, the days here are often unpredictable. Curriculum and materials can help keep the chaos of a special education classroom organized. These new materials can help my students grow academically while teaching them routines and expectations. Anything that can help give structure to busy days is much appreciated. The Daily Practice workbooks can help student at many levels practice learned skills. A daily review goes a long way with students who need constant reminders of how to perform simple skills. My classroom also works together to read a novel. This helps my students learn structure of story, comprehension skills, prediction skills, and work towards a love of reading/hearing stories.
