Worksheets! Worksheets! and more...yes you guessed it...WORKSHEETS! I am sure you remember the dreadful thought of knowing that your math teacher was most certainly going to give you a worksheet to practice. I am requesting a variety of resources to create math centers in my room to not only give the students a more hands-on approach to the concept but to make their math experiences enjoyable. I have requested a Common Core Math Centers set which covers a variety of concepts covered in the new Common Core curriculum. These activities will be used to teach, practice and reinforce various skills in the classroom. I have also requested activities on CD Rom in order to integrate the use of technology into the classroom. In addition to the centers, I have requested a number of manipulatives and independent activities to teach and reinforce skills and foster their critical thinking ability. Your support of this project will help my students now and for years to come receive hands-on experiences in math class. You will help eliminate the dreadful WORKSHEET that so many of us became accustomed to throughout our mathematical experiences. By supporting the use of manipulatives and centers in the math class, you are fostering the growth of critical thinkers and more productive citizens.
