When the students enter the classroom in the fall, they will not have an assigned desk or seat as in a standard classroom. They will go to an open seat for morning check in and afternoon check out. Throughout the day they will use the different learning stations and alternative seating to best meet their needs. This could include group work, partner work, small group, or individual work. The bins and cart will be where their supplies are kept rather than in a desk. Donations for this project will benefit the students' learning through organization and ownership of their materials in a selected location while allowing them to use the open seating model to best meet their active learning needs without the worry of where do I keep my necessary materials and supplies if I don't have a desk.
