We are currently trying to incorporate Indian Education For All (IEFA) into our middle school Language Arts curriculum. In order to do the unit I have planned, students need your help and this novel set to further learn and develop a deeper understanding on the history of Native Americans within our country. While the novel is realistic fiction, students will be able to determine what is non-fiction and ties into what they have learned in Social Studies while also learning new aspects of this lifestyle. Students will be asked to use critical thinking skills, have a deeper understanding, and also the apply the style of writing this novel entails in a writing of their own. We look forward to the many different things this novel set has to offer in both reading and writing!
