My fifth grade students spend 3 hours a day focusing on math and science. They are "Go Getters" who want to explore the world around them and ask questions about what is unknown. Each day, I get a handful of "I Wonder" cards, which are just filled with questions related to our learning. If only they could sit down in class and seek out the answers to these questions. They have an interest in technology and a want to create and present topics to their classmates. Many of these children do not have the technology at home to get the answers that they seek and a Title I school can only provide so much technology access on a weekly basis. When the kids do get on a computer, much of their time is spent working to improve themselves academically and very little time exploring topics that they are wondering about.
