My students are juniors and seniors with a variety of learning skills and abilities. Our school is 68% free and reduced-price lunch, so many of my students are economically disadvantaged. Some of my students are disengaged learners who don't really do well in the traditional classroom. Engaging them in hands-on, creative ways to understand basic scientific concepts is a strategy that does prove to be successful. Our school is racially diverse, with a range of students who are Nebraska natives, as well as refugees and immigrants.
