Every item in this project will have a home to go immediately. The seat sacks and "Turn in Your Work" box will allow each student to work on personal responsibility and organization. The weighted blankets and vests will go in our Sensory Space or cool down corner where my students go to take a break if they are feeling overwhelmed. The stamps, magnetic letters, sight word activities, and phonics game will go in our Word Work area where students focus specifically on what words mean, look like, and sound like. The math materials will be used during small group instruction to develop number and spatial sense in addition to foundational math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. My students thrive when they are able to work with manipulatives that bring abstract ideas down to the concrete, and each of the items I have requested will allow them to do this.
