This will be the first time in ten years that I have the privilege to have my own classroom! I have been a traveling teacher for a very long time. I'm so very excited to be able to teach at one school this year and dedicate all of my energy to them! My school is a low income school that is amazingly diverse. I want to be able to offer students an art experience that generates a love of the arts to the students there. The arts are essential to the success of students in all areas of education. I want the students to have the same kind of opportunities as affluent schools that have the necessary equipment and supplies to create an atmosphere of pride. If students feel that their space is inspiring, then they themselves will be inspired. Despite the demographics and statistics, I know that the students at can be high achievers with the influence of art in their lives.
