Thank you for considering this project! I teach middle school Monday through Friday in a computer lab using technology to remediate math and language arts skills while firmly believing in the benefits of outdoor adventure education and real-life problem-solving in the lives of children. I hope to use bi-annual overnight camping trips at Louisiana facilities to provide new opportunities for children. Improved self-efficacy, trust, and team-building skills along with the reinforcement of academic concepts related to geography, geology, natural and Earth sciences, and environmental stewardship are anticipated outcomes.
