My students need a laser printer to help with classroom projects. Our school limits the number of black and white copies we use monthly. Teachers are allowed to use a color printer at our the Central Office for a fee. The students appear to be more engaged when the materials are colorful. I try to print as many materials in color as possible, but this has become costly. Learning is always more fun in color. Kindergarten age students are so imaginative and full of life. Many of the games that we use to explore in our curriculum are available to students in color. My limited funding does not always allow us to use the colorful materials. A color printer in our classroom would allow the students the opportunity to write and illustrate in color, gain a clearer picture of skills when we match words to pictures in our language lessons. In the math curriculum students would create picture cards to illustrate math facts as well as create their own hands-on materials.
