All students will benefit from the listening center, especially those that are auditory learners. I would like for them to begin to discover the joy of reading and listening to a good book. Not only will the listening center be for enjoyment, but it will also help improve the children’s vocabulary and comprehension skills. The students will have the opportunity to work cooperatively which will teach them important social skills such as to share, wait their turn, and take care of materials. The addition of these materials to my classroom will definitely enhance the students daily learning. Having this comfy couch will allow them to have a place to call their own where they can sit back and listen to their favorite book. My goal as a kindergarten teacher is to help the students become life-long learners. I also strive to make learning fun for the students. I hope that they will always look back to kindergarten and remember a place that was fun and made them feel safe and successful.
