My students want to learn how to sew, but with a limited number of working sewing machines it is difficult to teach with just one. My classroom is in desperate need of these new sewing machines to help educate the eager students about sewing. Let's get the students away from social media and bring them back to an art that has always been apart of our culture. The students creativity can illuminate with learning just a few sewing techniques. Students who work with their hands can learn new techniques and skills to help lower their stress level. In high school, there is a lot of stress, but with learning sewing techniques it can give the students another outlet to express their creativity. In fact, just from the classroom the students have developed an after school sewing club to continue their learning.
