Most of my students come from a low income house. They are not always exposed to reading at an early age. Some of the houses don't have books for the kids to interact with. Some of the parents don't know how to read and this affects the students. Providing them with books and strategies to learn how to read and write will help them open their imagination and travel without having to exit their own room. My main goal is to teach the students to learn a passion for reading. The earlier they start reading the better will be for them to interact with others. For my students that don't have much vocabulary with them because of lack of exposure, having a classroom library that is always open will increase their vocabulary. The first thing is to have them read and incorporate the appropriate material for English Language Learners. Students can learn and have fun.
