I have a combination class that is composed of thirteen second graders and fourteen third graders. They are a diverse group of bright, caring, funny, and eager students who were hand-selected to be in my class based on their eagerness to learn, despite academic challenges they may have. While some of my students are performing at kindergarten level in math, others have a reading comprehension equivalent to an eighth grader. It can be a challenge to find supplemental activities to my curriculum that can meet the needs of all the ability levels of my students. With the help of technology, mainly videos, I am able to provide a visual representation of the concepts I am teaching them. Most, if not all, of my students are visual learners and do exponentially better when they can SEE what the are learning about.
