I am a special education teacher for students in Kindergarten to 2nd grade. Most of the student in the school are from low income families. Most of the students are ESL students as well. My students have learning exceptionalities that range from autism, mild cognitive disability, language impairment, specific learning disability, and other health impairment. Most of my kids have sensory needs and show elevated response to the classroom and school environment. They need to learn to identify the need for a break and how to have one that is suitable for them through the day. It is important for their progress and achievement as they are able to be calm, focus, engage, and avoid behavior issues.

About my class
