I have always tried my best to provide for my students (out of pocket within my means) when resources were unavailable to them. I have already spent close to $500 in purchasing personal white boards, dry erasers, small incentives for my prize box, Lysol wipes, and several other items just this school year. I was so excited to hear about this website when another teacher referred it to me! This is my first time using this site and am truly grateful for any support.
Some of the items on the list are Kleenex boxes. Many of our parents have financial struggles which is why this item was optional on the 1st grade supply list. We only received a small amount of Kleenex boxes and have now gone half way through them. Allergies have been extremely high this year so our little ones have been using tissues quite frequently.
The school supplies on this list will be used every day. They will help our students become successful Mathematicians and Scientists. One of the major items on this list is several packs of pencils. Last year I spent my own money buying pencils when we ran out. This year I added several boxes to the list so the kids will always have a pencil in their pencil boxes. Without a pencil, our young minds will not be able to show their thinking. All of the school supplies on my list will help my class stay healthy, organized, motivated, and successfully learn the lessons each day. On behalf of myself and my little first graders, thank you again for all your support!
