Students will be creating, writing, filming, and editing our school news on a daily basis. They will be producing multimedia videos for over 600 fifth graders, educating them about the variety of classes in our school. Students will produce "ads" for events such as VIP visits, community opportunities, celebrations, school awards, and any other newsworthy event. Students will use the microphones to greatly improve the sound quality on these video projects. This class is motivational to high-risk students, and motivated students are higher achieving students. This multimedia technology exposes students to uses of technology, social media, and multimedia beyond the traditional classroom setting. Multimedia Technology exposes students to possible career tracks they had not previously considered. Students will explore projects from all aspects and phases: the creative, the writing, the time management, the production, the editing, and even the critiquing and improving aspects.
