These materials will be use during our life cycles unit. Students look at different types of life cycles and how living things change over time. We currently study life cycles by looking at pictures and watching videos. This will provide my students' a hands on, valuable experience. The materials will provide hands on opportunities for students to use the scientific method, read about life cycles, and to write about their learning. We will use these materials to make predictions, make observations, graph and record data, and report their findings. We will use the books to read about all different types of life cycles. The egg models will be used with my struggling students to provide a model to go with our discussions to create a deeper understanding of the content. These materials will be used to cover a variety of 3rd grade standards including science, reading, and writing.
