A new rug would truly give my students more time in their day. Our current rug is just carpet squares put next to each other so after one lesson with wiggly kiddos, it is all messed up and carpet squares are everywhere. The kids then have to spend time "fixing the carpet" before we can come back to sit in their assigned spots for another lesson. A new rug would give that time spent rearranging the carpet squares back to the kids for learning and discovering. The alphabet on the outside is also great not only as a literacy reference, but also for helping us get into a circle (rectangle) for circle time or whole group learning.
