I am a certified math, English and PE teacher. I have been teaching for over 15 years. I currently teach middle school English. We read and write constantly in my classes. I believe that in order for students be better at anything they ned to read more. I insist upon 10 minutes of silent reading every day in my classes. The students can read whatever they like, but they must read. Additionally, I teach whole class novels. w ant my students to learn to dissect what they read and I think I can best do that if I have novels that are relevant and current.
