My students are improving their speech and language skills by working on vocabulary, describing, sequencing events, and social skills. My students with autism need books to help grow their vocabulary and language skills. Not all of my students are reading yet, but their eyes light up when they open a book. They enjoy the colorful pictures and learning about their world. I work with them on describing pictures and events, learning new words, sequencing, and creating longer utterances. I would love to pair fiction with nonfiction books to further expand their knowledge, connections, and world views. I would love to be able to begin my "speech and language" classroom library with your support. After all, who doesn't love a good book? Thank you for your consideration!
