As a traveling art teacher, I visit the first and second grade art classes twice a week in their general classroom. This means that I must transport all materials for a project from the art room to their classroom. I never want to limit my kids' art experience because of the difficulty of transporting the media. Using tempera cakes and watercolor paper, my students will be able to paint masterpieces. The cakes will provide a more manageable form of paint, yet produce similar results to that of liquid paint. It will also allow for an easier cleanup and a rich experience.
