My students are severely handicapped with special needs ranging from Autism to Downs Syndrome, Speech & Language Impairments, Orthopedic Impairments and Intellectual Disabilities. They are hard working, share with others and give the sweetest compliments. They come to school eager to learn each morning, and are well-liked around campus. My classroom has fifth and sixth graders. I have students who receive speech and gross motor services at school, as well as, physical and occupational therapy several days a week. Many students in my classroom live with 5 or more people, reuse clothing, and do not have healthy meals at home. My school receives Title 1 funding to improve the academic achievement of disadvantaged students. But, my students know not the let anyone "dull their sparkle".
