My students are energetic and ready to learn, but the supplies we have are often limited. The pencils we get are gone in a flash, and pens disappear constantly. Sharpeners get broken and tape is always needed for various things around the room on a daily basis. We need pencils and a sharpener to keep us writing! We also need pens and tape for our classroom to keep everything running smoothly, and keep the things that need to be on the walls where they need to be. Giving the students access to pencils in the classroom means they don't have to ask others for pencils, which can be empowering to them as well as giving them tools to use in the classroom.
