My school is in the heart of a rural farming community. The students bring with them each day a sense of family. We are a team whose ultimate goal is to make everyone feel important and needed. Together we assign jobs and roles for each to perform. If someone falls on their job, our classroom will not run smoothly. This gives students a feeling of necessity, importance, and belonging. Once we have established that we are here to work, learn, and grow together, we can then begin delving into the curriculum. Students learn at a very young age that we are all different. It's those differences that make us individuals and special. They learn quickly that everyone is accepted and everyone must do their part! We are a Title I School, therefore everyone is receiving free breakfast and about 95% receive free or reduced price lunches.
