Quality shoulder rests help my students hold their instruments comfortably. This relaxes their bodies and enables them to learn their music with ease and confidence. They can better focus on their learning when they're not fighting their instrument. When students feel confident physically, they are more successful mentally and emotionally. Students who experience success in elementary orchestra are more likely to choose to continue orchestra through the end of high school and beyond. Elementary orchestra is about establishing a foundation, and shoulder rests are a key element in that foundation.
