My class consists of 21 students and we have four computers in our classroom. We have access to chromebooks for one hour on intervention programs each day. If we were to add three chromebooks, I could rotate groups of seven students so they could do more research projects on topics of interest and spend more time investigating specific areas of study. My students are from a lower socioeconomic community and for some of them, the only access to technology at home is a family member’s smart phone. They are very eager learners with limited access to computers. I would like to have enough technology in my classroom that they feel free to answer questions that may arise while reading or conducting investigations in science. I believe they will want to go deeper with their learning if they get to answer their questions with technology. They will want to know more just so they can use the chromebooks.
