My students love to draw and make up silly stories about their drawings to share with the class. One student actually sang his story to the tune of "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" and that sparked an idea for other students to sing their illustrations. We will use musical instruments to accompany each other's original pieces. We currently have mix-matched instruments from many years ago and would like to have enough instruments for all students to play together. With a minor in Music Education, I accompany them on the piano but would love to incorporate an acoustic guitar as well as teach students about musical instruments and how to count beats and rhythms to play along with pre-recorded music. How thrilled their parents will be to see their children perform on the stage in the auditorium at parent meetings and other events!
