As a teacher of amazing special needs students in a lower income, Title I school, I find that many of my students struggle with lack of reading material at home. In order to compensate for the absence of reading material at home, by requesting donations for materials, this will ensure that my special education students are receiving the best education through learning enrichment at home, as well as in the classroom. My classroom consists of a wide range of mild to moderate disabilities that effect their educational growth. Due to their disabilities, they are functioning below grade level. My goal is for students to advance in their reading comprehension and work towards Common Core State Standards while building confidence in their reading ability.
