When my students come in each morning I want to give them the opportunity to play. Play sets the foundation for our later interactions with the world. Play has been replaced by television, iPads, and video games. Play is vital for students to learn to interact with their world while building physical, mental, and social skills necessary to succeed as an adult. These math, reading, and engineering manipulatives will allow my students the opportunity to play with educational materials in a non threatening manner. This will undoubtedly be my students favorite time of the day and will set the stage for their learning throughout the day.
