Most of my students love to read, but have never been to a book store. A majority of my students gain their knowledge of the world through books. My school has 75% free and reduced lunch. It is my job to not help most of my students find a joy in reading, but all of them. This year my goal is to find high interest books, that my students can connect with the main character. I hope to accomplish my goal with a book titled, Crossover. I have one copy of Crossover that is consistently checked out through my classroom library. As a class we could really dig into this poetry based novel. With this book, I feel like I could get the ones that are still not sure if they like to read or not with this novel!!!
