My students are amazing little people who will make a huge impact on this world! I am lucky to work at a school with a very diverse student base that teaches tolerance and compassion to all students. Although we are a suburban school we have many families facing poverty and have the largest percentage of our students qualifying for free/reduced lunch in the district. We also support a large ENL population and many students who need support and nontraditional approaches to learn. As a kindergarten teacher I get the privilege of providing students with a first experience with our school community. Our kindergarten team works hard to provide each student with a personalized learning opportunity while fostering an environment that is inclusive for all. We encourage collaboration and communication among our students. The majority of our teaching is done through a workshop model to maximize opportunities for hands on learning and critical thinking.
