Our school is a technology center (aka, vocational school) we are located in a rural community in central Kentucky. My class room is a machine shop which prepares students for careers in the manufacturing industry. Each year 90% of my students have a career waiting for them upon graduation. Most of these positions are high paying opportunities that also offer additional education opportunities that are funded by the employers. Most of these students will make between $15 to $20 per hour their first year. In fact in our community there are over ten individual companies that have been started by former students of the Machine Tool program and these also account for 100 % of the manufacturing jobs with in our county. We have an outstanding program because we have outstanding students.
