Our students attend a high school in the rural county of Georgetown, SC. Nine students volunteer to work after school and on weekends to build a robot to compete. One of the aspects of this experience is to learn to promote and raise funds for the team to be successful. We hope DonorsChoose.org will join us in our promotion efforts with these stickers. At present there are 2 girls and 7 boys on the team ranging from 9th-12th grade. They are mentored by community members, some of whom are alumni, to learn engineering design, mechanical construction, completion strategy, gratuitous professionalism as well as creating a business model. As a rookie team they are building an organization from scratch as well as a robot. As a Rookie All Star team we have demonstrated to the judges that we have built a good foundation to grow on as well as a functional, creative robot that is worthy to compete in the nationals at the end of April. Please join me in helping my students!
