These materials will be used to help students become self sufficient, independent readers. It will help give them the confidence to do reading activities on their own. These materials will be used for an independent time when students must work on their own, so this will give them confidence that they can do all the work without help. Most students in my community unfortunately come to school with little vocabulary background. These activities will be used with programs that will help students build vocabulary and become fluent readers and writers.
