My students need hands-on materials to allow them to explore science concepts. They will use the models, kits, and tools to help them learn about the human body, the Solar System, volcanoes, magnets, electricity, etc. I am preparing my students to be productive citizens in the 21st century. We are a Digital 5 classroom and every student has a laptop in my class. Flocabulary is a digital program for all grades that uses educational hip-hop music to engage students and increase achievement across the curriculum. BrainPOP is a group of educational websites with over 1,000 short animated movies for students in grades K-12, together with quizzes and related materials, covering the subjects of science, social studies, English, mathematics, engineering and technology, health, and arts and music. The digital resources will be used to reinforce the topics discussed and taught in school. The possibilities are endless! Once the students have the exposure to the materials, I would like to believe that it will ignite something within them to encourage them to become the next generation of thinkers and problem solvers. My students may be classified "disadvantaged" for now, but they won't be for long. They will have the advantages that will afford them to make leaps and bounds on the state science test. The materials will be made available for the students when we work in a whole group setting, small groups, centers, outdoors, and indoors. This will be a positive change for my students! Your generosity will effect change in my classroom and we will never fully understand how it will affect eternity! My students may not have the ability to fully express their gratitude, but I will. Thank you for investing in their future!
