Our goal this year is to create a personal reading library for each student in my classroom. For some of them, this will be the very first book that they own. The children will receive one book a month. When the book arrives there will be a brief fanfare. We will read it together as a class. The students will then be encouraged to take the book home and read it to their siblings and other family members. Great emphasis will be placed upon finding a special place in their house to display the book.
