We believe our students deserve to be taught on equipment closer to industry-standard so that they can be competitive in our district and national art contests as well. Currently, our program only has four DSLR cameras for student use. Teachers have been using cell phones and very old point-and-shoot cameras. Cell phones are not an acceptable alternative to teach photography. The lack of gear and technology in a photography class is very difficult to overcome. We want our students to be able to have hands-on experience with the type of technology that they would be using in the field should they choose to move forward with their learning.
