Welcome to my busy 4th grade classroom.I have been teaching at Julia Randall Since 2005, and employed full time by the District since 1996. I received my Bachelors in K-6 Education in 2005 and a Masters in Continuing Elementary Education in 2014 both from Northern Arizona University. My 4th grade classroom is set up into small groups or teams. I utilize a differentiated teaching style. The classroom is engaged with activities. For example, each student has their own checkbook. Every month, they balance their checkbook, earn a salary, and are able to receive checks for good behavior. My students and parents love this authentic assessment. Critical thinking skills are needed to determine income vs. spending. Math skills needed are addition, multiplication, and subtraction. We even do mock income tax on April 15th. Fourth grade holds lots of excitement and challenges. The curriculum is intense, with emphasis on the
