My students come from mostly low income households where the parents are trying to make ends meet. Many of them never went to school before they came into kindergarten. This year is very critical for them all. It is the year that they build those foundational skills that are so important. Many of the students in our school come with extra baggage that you would never think that children would have to deal with. We have homeless students, students from abusive backgrounds and we try our best to make them feel safe and secure at school in order for them to learn what we are teaching them.

About my class
